The perfect photoshoot starts with planning. Regardless of the session you choose, we start with a planning, style and design consult prior to your actual session.
Before you ever step in front of my lens, we will work together to choose your locations, chat about your personal style, and design your dream photoshoot. We will talk about what you like (and what you don't!) so we can tailor your session perfectly for you.
It's my goal to give you the most amazing pictures possible. I love creating a fun photoshoot experience and capturing your personality through your images - you deserve portraits as unique as you are!

We offer a luxury photography experience that is a once in a lifetime experience with professional makeup & hairstyling, and a variety of looks for your senior session.
With Alvida Groom you are working with a world-renowned photographer and her team of stylists, and artists to get a one-of-a-kind portrait session that you will cherish for the rest of your life.

What is a BOOKING fee?
The booking fee covers the time and the talent of the photographer and her assistants ( makeup artist fees), as well as everything from traveling to my creative editing time, usage of gear and such.
DO YOU HELP WITH THE PLANNING PROCESS?
Absolutely! At our Session zoom call or in person consultation we will discuss all the options. I will show you locations that I go to, talk about outfit choices for different locations and even send you guides, on how to prep your skin, nails and what to wear!
DO YOU PROVIDE HAIR AND MAKEUP?
Great question! Yes. Booking fee cover makeup artist and hair stylist on your session day. I definitely recommend having your makeup done professionally before your session. It feels great to be pampered and walk into your photoshoot feeling gorgeous.
HELP! HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO WEAR OR HOW TO POSE?
No worries - that’s my specialty! I have photographed hundreds of seniors and models and I know exactly how to pose you to look your very best. I will direct you every step of the way, from helping you prepare for your photo shoot to posing you from head to toe. I got your back!
What’s the difference between Collections?
All collections include pre-planning consultation, shoot time that’s all about you and high resolution images from our senior session. 2 of the collections include free cap & gown photo shoot in the spring. Please download the collection price guide to see more details.
Why is professional hair and makeup important?
There’s a big difference between everyday makeup and “camera-ready” makeup. The pros I work with have a ton of experience creating hair and makeup looks that are natural but show up great in finished photos.
Plus, letting someone else handle your hair and makeup can make the whole experience feel even more special — like a spa day rolled into your photo shoot!
WHERE DO YOU SHOOT? DO YOU TRAVEL?
Photo sessions can be held anywhere within one hour from my home but feel free to contact me for destination photoshoots. I have done destination photo shoots in Palm Beach, Wisconsin, San Diego. (Europe, anyone?)!
WHAT IF I’M JUST NOT PHOTOGENIC?
Not photogenic? Nonsense! It’s not your job to be “photogenic”. It's my job to help you feel comfortable and beautiful so you can let your walls down and let that gorgeous light shine.
WHERE DO I GET CHANGED WHILE ON THE SHOOT?
I bring a changing tent on location— or I have plenty of room in my car for you to change - told you I've got everything covered! ;)
I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE, HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?
Relax, I got you... I love to capture who you are so I observe how you move. I ask you to walk, spin, laugh, keep moving and you will be having fun and not thinking about posing. I know how the body moves. By the end of the session you will be a pro and moving on your own! Let's have fun !
HOW CAN I BOOK MY SESSION WITH YOU?
To secure your session with me, it's best to book early! Sessions tend to fill up quickly, often months in advance, and I often have to turn away seniors who wait until Spring of their graduating year. Once you reach out, I'll guide you through the process of submitting a session retainer fee.
WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?
After your session you will be sent an email on my editing progress. It takes two weeks to finish editing all your beautiful portraits and depending on the products you select, your products can be in your hands within 2-4 weeks! Albums take longer.
I’M ON A BUDGET - ARE PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE?
Absolutely! Senior portraits are certainly an investment, which is why I offer a variety of session options so you can get exactly what you want. I work one-on-one to design an experience customized to you (and your budget!), and I do also offer payment plans.
